war of life peace of death

kneeling in the storm surrounding,
watching you walk away into the night,
ice cold shard of pain,misery and doubt ,
dripping from my soul's sorrow

a moment,
a lifetime,
a heartbeat,
all gone

an echoing scream of anguish,
a heart ripped apart,
a love undone,
a whisper amongst the howling

tears dropping one by one
breaths dragged from my lungs,
love striking out one last time in the dark,
to swallowed in the night

such be the memories,
